We are looking for a volunteer to take care and paint our residents nails. They must have training and experience of working with older people. 

By volunteering as an care home volunteer, you will not only help older people to have fun and stay active, but also enrich your own life with new experiences and friendships. You will also gain valuable skills and knowledge that can enhance your personal and professional development.

What are the activities that MHA offers for older people?

MHA offers a variety of events and activities for older people in its care homes, retirement living, and community groups. These include arts and crafts, music, games, exercise, gardening, and more.

How much time do I need to commit as a care home volunteer?

We ask our volunteers to commit to 2 hours or more a session each week for at least six months.

What kind of support will I receive as a care home volunteer?

You will receive ongoing support and guidance from a local coordinator who will match you with an older person, monitor your progress, and provide feedback. You will also have access to online resources, training opportunities, and peer support from other volunteers.

•    Have training and experience in manicures.
•    Patience, empathy and understanding of the needs of older people.
•    Organisational skills.
•    You’ll be reliable and punctual.

•    You’ll have a clear sense of personal boundaries.
•    You’ll have the ability to provide a supportive and non-judgemental service.
•    You’ll be willing to join in with training and development.
•    You’ll be able to maintain confidentiality.
