A volunteer walker will take a resident out for a walk in the local area for around an hour or so.

MHA offers a variety of events and activities for older people in its care homes, retirement living, and community groups. These include arts and crafts, music, games, exercise, gardening, as well as walks in the local area.

How much time do I need to commit as a volunteer walker?
We are looking for volunteers who can offer us at least two hour per week for at least six months.
What kind of support will I receive as an activities volunteer?
You will receive ongoing support and guidance from a local coordinator who will match you with an older person, monitor your progress, and provide feedback. You will also have access to online resources, training opportunities, and peer support from other volunteers.

- Are aged 18 and over
- Good organisation skills.
- Good communication skills

- You will be reliable and punctual.
- Flexibility.

- A good planner / organiser.
