MHA hosts informative supporter event at iconic Cheshire venue

Jean Stead, a resident at MHA Ty Gwyn, celebrated her remarkable 100th birthday with an intimate party at the care home, surrounded by her close family. Her children, Jill and Michael, were present, with Michael even traveling from Canada as a special surprise for his mother. Jean, who was born in the small mining village of Street House in Yorkshire, had a fulfilling career, with her favorite job being as a tracer at a drawing office.Among the many cards Jean received, her favorite was a telegram from the King. More than 20 family members, including her children, grandchildren, and niece, visited to celebrate with her.

Mary-Anne Rowle, the activities coordinator at MHA Ty Gwyn, shared that Jean had been eagerly anticipating her birthday and had been telling the staff and fellow residents about it all week. The highlight of the celebration was the surprise arrival of Michael, her son, from Canada.
