Brittany James' journey during National Apprenticeship Week is a great example of how apprenticeships can provide opportunities to people, regardless of their past experiences. Starting as a stewardship apprentice with Methodist Homes (MHA) in September 2022, she was able to transition from a dance background to business administration, overcoming a challenging injury that impacted her career path.

She speaks highly of the apprenticeship program, not only for the practical skills it gave her but also for the feedback and support she received along the way. Brittany’s experience in securing employment in Derby with MHA, followed by the completion of her Level 3 apprenticeship, showcases how apprenticeships can provide pathways to success, even in the face of setbacks.

Her story is an inspiring reminder of the value of apprenticeships, encouraging others to take the leap and find new opportunities, especially with the guidance and trust of supportive organisations like MHA.
