Birthday celebrations at MHA Davids House as resident turns 100 with two birthday parties

MHA The Homestead welcomes Care Home Open Week with music festival

Phoebe Layfield, a 24-year-old care assistant at MHA Heather Grange in Burnley, has been named Employee of the Year, thanks to her outstanding work ethic and attitude. She began working at the home in May 2023, after hearing about the role from her sister, who was already employed there.

Phoebe’s dedication and compassion were recognized by staff, residents, and their families, leading to her receiving the most nominations throughout the year. The award is given to someone who consistently goes above and beyond in their role. Phoebe’s caring nature and kindness towards residents and colleagues were key factors in her receiving the honor.

“I was aware of the employee of the month awards, but the one for the year was a total surprise,” Phoebe said, reflecting on her achievement. “It feels really nice to be recognised and I feel extremely proud.”

Phoebe, who has worked in social care for three years, shared that her passion for the job grew when she joined MHA Heather Grange.
