What is dementia?
Dementia refers to several conditions that cause a person to have memory loss, difficulty in communication, and thinking. Alzheimer’s disease, Vascular dementia, and Lewy body dementia are some of these conditions.
People living with dementia benefit from care and support that works with their strengths and compensates for their difficulties. Over time a person living with dementia and their families may need more specialist support. At MHA, we call this relationship-centred support.
